Ring Ring
Gatoring?
What do you mean, there’s a gator in the parking lot?!
Well, its not an alligator, it’s a type of cracking in the asphalt surface.
Sometimes, property managers would almost prefer a real gator!
So why is it called “gatoring”? Its because the cracking and damage on the asphalt looks like alligator scales.
Every spring, the gators appear in parking lots and roadways all over our area. Winter weather, with its freeze/thaw cycle, finds all of the weaknesses in the asphalt and the ground on which it lies, making that supposedly solid surface heave and move. The result? Crackling and potholes that will need repairs.
They may be hunting real gators in Florida – we’re hunting the asphalt variety up here!
